Aqualand Goes Green: Nature Takes Center Stage in the 2025 Season
Aqualand is not just about water and fun. It’s also a unique ecosystem where nature and well-being come together. For the 2025 season, the Park unveils an even greener look thanks to an important project of requalification and vegetation enhancement. A project designed to make our guests’ experience even more pleasant, while also addressing the environmental challenges of our time.
More Green, More Well-Being
In recent months, Aqualand has invested in creating new green areas and strengthening existing ones. This isn’t only about aesthetics: trees and shrubs were chosen specifically for their ability to improve the Park’s microclimate, helping to lower summer temperatures by up to 6°C (about 11°F) in areas of natural shade. An effective and sustainable way to face heat waves and offer guests true moments of cool relief.
Beyond providing shade and freshness, the vegetation contributes to visitors’ physical and mental well-being. Numerous studies show that contact with nature reduces stress and stimulates the production of endorphins. Aqualand aims to be all of this: a place to regenerate, in touch with water… and with the earth.
A Park That Tells a Story of Biodiversity
The new landscaping project introduces numerous tree and shrub species—both native and exotic—capable of withstanding high temperatures and requiring minimal water. From Jacaranda mimosifolia to Ficus nitida, and the Mediterranean Ceratonia siliqua, each plant has been carefully selected to promote biodiversity, create shelters for local wildlife, and enrich the natural landscape.
Themed groves have been created to encourage biophilia—humankind’s innate desire to connect with nature. In these areas, the vegetation takes center stage, growing naturally without aggressive pruning and integrating perfectly with the Park’s architecture.
Natural Shade, Less Plastic, More Sustainability
In areas traditionally occupied by umbrellas, umbrella-shaped trees such as Catalpa bungei are being planted. Over time, these will provide natural shade without the need for artificial structures. For this reason, the use of plastic will be minimized: plants will be placed directly in the ground or in containers made from recycled and sustainable materials.
Nature is Part of the Aqualand Experience
Greenery isn’t just a backdrop—it’s an essential part of the Aqualand experience. A place where you swim, laugh, play… but also relax under a tree, listen to birdsong, or stroll among summer blooms and naturally shaded areas.
In 2025, Aqualand is greener than ever. And this is only the beginning.
